On the 12th day of September, 2022, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Sykesville enacted Resolution No. 2022-01, amending the title of Chapter 5 to reflect elimination of the nomination requirements for elected office, amending section C-24 with respect to the residency requirements for election judges, repealing section C-30, “Nominations” and enacting section C-30 “Filing for Candidacy” to alter the Town’s procedures for establishing candidacy for elected office. Resolution No. 2022-01 shall become effective on November 1, 2022, unless a Petition for Referendum is filed in accordance with Section 4-304(d) of the Local Government Article of the Maryland Code on or before October 22, 2022. A complete and exact copy of Resolution No. 2019-01 is posted in the municipal offices of the Town.
