The Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC), on behalf of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board, is conducting a study to develop a concept plan for the Patapsco Regional Greenway; a 10-to-12 foot wide, accessible trail through the Patapsco Valley from the Inner Harbor of Baltimore to Sykesville in Carroll County. The greenway is planned to pass through or near the communities of Cherry Hill, Baltimore Highlands, Halethorpe, Elkridge, Catonsville, Ellicott City, Oella, Daniels, Woodstock and Marriotsville.
The BMC study will delineate a main trail location, select alternative locations, and steps towards making the greenway a reality. Toole Design Group (TDG) is conducting a survey of stakeholders to identify opportunities and obstacles to creating the Patapsco Regional Greenway.
