Every year, Saving Grace Animal Rescue does a shoe drive.  This year it is during March 2017 and April 2017.   They collect the shoes; a company called Wooftrax picks up the shoes on a designated date.  Saving Grace receives funds based on the weight of the shoes (so the more they collect, the more they raise). The shoes are then sent to third world countries. In those countries people that would not have away to support their family are taught how to set up a small shoe business at the market. So when donating people are helping not only Saving Grace Animal Rescue, but those that would not have a means to support their families.

A local drop off location is the Sykesville Police Department.  There is a box in the lobby to place shoes.
