Food Assistance Resources
Food Donations
The Town of Sykesville has created a food donation site on the side porch of the Town House at 7547 Main Street. This donation site is accessible 24/7. Please put donations in the bin, and do not leave them next to the bin or on the porch. Donations must be unexpired, unopened and non-perishable.
Please place any donation items in the bin on the side porch (pictured below).
Most Needed Items (based on information from the Maryland Food Bank):
- Shelf-Stable Milk and Milk Alternatives
- Cans or Cups of Fruit
- Apple Sauce
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Canned Chicken, Tuna, Salmon, etc
- Meal Kits (Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, etc)
- Canned Soup
- Canned or Dried Beans
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
- Pasta
- Rice
- Canned Vegetables
- Nuts or Seeds
Other Items:
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Soap
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Cleaning Supplies
- Pet Food and Pet Supplies
Distribution of Food Donations
The Town will send all donated items to St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 7538 Main Street. They will distribute items as part of their pop-up food pantries. For information on their food pantry, please contact Dawn Wittfelt at 410-795-0714 or info@stpaulssykesville.org.
Additional Assistance
St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Impact Church both work with ESCAPE Ministries, a nonprofit organization that coordinates relief assistance for those in need. Assistance can include help paying utility bills. Cash Donations
Cash donations are used to supplement the donated non-perishable foods with items such as eggs, milk, meat, and other perishables. Cash donations can be made online using the links below.
St. Paul's United Methodist Church
Direct donations can be made online or in person at the church. If donating online, click the "Giving online is quick and easy" link, and select "Food Drive" from the drop down menu.
Impact Church
Direct donations can be made online, via text, in person, or through the mail. If donating online, click the "Online Giving" button, and select "Food Pantry" from the drop down menu.
